An independent young woman lives in her home with an unexpected companion: a large rectangular mirror that has a life of its own. The mirror is in love with her and does everything it can to stop its mistress's amorous dalliances.
A painter - played by Ferdy Mayne, Count von Krolockpor from The Fearless Vampire Killers - who travels through the villages of inland England finds refuge in a remote village. There he meets two men and a woman who live for pleasure and pagan rituals.
