Sbornia is an island with a rich but eccentric culture, separated from the rest of the world by a high wall. When the wall comes down, cultural change plays hilarious havoc on the lives of two traditional Sbornian musicians.
In an old western town called "Descansas City", we find the gravedigger Zeca Funesto. In the fight for justice, truth and some customers, Zeca becomes his alter ego Kactus Kid.
In the backlands of Bahia, at the end of the 19th century, hundreds of families went to the Santo de Belo Monte settlement in Canudos, drawn by the promises of Antônio Conselheiro. The film addresses the War of Canudos, when soldiers and generals joined forces to destroy the city he founded.
